During the Grand Prix of Qatar, Piet Beirer, KTM Motorsport Manager, announced the renewal of Antonio Cairoli’s contract for three more years. The six-times World Champion Antonio Cairoli will be racing for the Austrian manufacturer until 2016.

“We know how good and fantastic Tony is, he helped us to develop the MX1 bike and he accepted the 350cc challenge. He is happy with the team and working with all of us, and I hope we don’t have to split up anymore and he rides KTM forever,” Pit Beirer said.

Antonio Cairoli added: “I’m really happy to have found such a great team and manufacturer that are always behind me. Honestly, we didn’t have to speak much as I my intention was to stay and they wanted to keep me. I am also very happy to stay with team De Carli, who has supported me for many years. There is no better team to work with at the moment.”

“Tony has a great chance to win ten championships or even more … it is a pleasure for me to see Tony on the 350cc which I helped to develop, so while Tony is winning those championships, in a way I’m also winning them”, Stefan Everts said.

Claudio De Carli, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing MX1 Team Manager, concluded the press conference by saying: “I am very excited about this announcement because Tony and I have been working together for many years, and this new group that we have created in KTM is fantastic because we can all work really well and looking always ahead. We have a special relationship with Antonio as he has grown up with us and he is great not only professionally, but also personally.”
